Hi! I’m Holly and the creator of The Wedding Social.
In a nutshell I am here to help wedding suppliers with all aspects of social media.
I am also an event and wedding coordinator helping to plan your special day. Allowing all the organisation to run seamlessly, leaving you worry free and able to enjoy it!
Where it all began |
I have always had a passion for running events. When studying at college I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to explore different careers. At the age of 18 it was a with the flip of a coin that I would either train to be a PE teacher or become an Event Planner - the next 9 years that followed, were spent working with children.
My husband and I got engaged in February 2018, this is where the flame inside me was re-lit. I knew I wanted to make this my career.
We chose our venue which was a new wedding venue in Gloucestershire, where we were lucky enough to have Rebecca our wedding planner who would help us plan our day.
Social Media |
A career with children meant there was constant uncertainty with funding, my employer became very creative with his ideas and quietly I learned all the basics of social media, management and marketing through him.
At the time I struggled to know what to write, what content to create and constantly felt what I was creating wasn’t good enough.
What I soon realised was you can’t market what you aren’t passionate about. However, weddings... I was passionate about. I started an instagram account called a life full of fizz, which later turned into the Cotswold Bride. Followers appeared, interactions and relationships formed and the flow of creative writing and content was constant with ideas popping up here, there and everywhere.
A helping Hand |
Rebecca had done an incredible job, single handily building a wedding venue business from scratch. But what she needed was an extra pair of hands to support her, I offered to take on the venue social media account, blog and website support.
Enquiries begun to flourish and so did our friendship, after Neil and I got married in April 2019 I then worked alongside Rebecca running the weddings for the rest of the year.
From initial show rounds to planning meetings and all the way through to the wedding day, I now had the experience of successfully marketing a wedding venue and coordinating weddings too.
The Wedding Social was born |
Lacking in confidence and full of confusion I knew what I wanted to do, but wasn’t sure the best way to move forwards.
With Rebeccas encouragement she told me that she knew there was a market for social media management within the wedding industry and the ultimate partnership of us working together to plan and coordinate weddings... she was right.
So here we are, with a whole host of services for both suppliers and couples the wedding social was born on January 1st 2020.
